Caregiver Support is a free and confidential phone consultation, information and referral service for the caregivers of older adults, as well as friends and family, practitioners and health care professionals.

We wish to remind you of the guidelines put in place by the government:

  • Keep at least 2 metres (6 feet) away from other people;
  • Wash your hands often with soap for at least 20 seconds;
  • People age 70 and over should remain in isolation at home, barring exceptional circumstances or unless it is absolutely necessary for them to go out.

Confinement can lead to increased social isolation, financial concerns, loneliness, stress, anxiety, and health issues. All of these conditions are likely to have a negative impact on our mental health and well-being. But there are organizations out there to support you. Here's a helpful list:

Info-Santé 811 is a free, confidential phone consultation service available 24/7.

When you call 811, you'll be able to speak to a nurse right away about a non-urgent health problem. In an emergency, however, you should call 911 or to go to the Emergency department.

CANADA EMERGENCY STUDENT BENEFIT

A variant of the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) intended specifically for post-secondary students has been introduced by the federal government.

Students must contact the federal government directly to submit their application or to review the eligibility criteria: CERB for students.

LIGNE PARENTS

The current situation may be more difficult for certain families. Effective immediately, LigneParents and the Fédération québécoise des organismes communautaires Famille (FQOCF) are joining forces to create Priorité Parents. Through this project, LigneParents is offering certain parents personalized support from an intervention worker affiliated with a family-focused community organization. SHARED CUSTODY DURING THE PANDEMIC

The pandemic has raised several questions for blended families and children in shared custody. Since this situation affects many families in the province, the Québec government has provided answers on the site Justice Québec.

The mission of 211 is to refer callers to the community and social resources best suited to their needs and closest to home. The 211 team cannot respond to health emergencies related to COVID-19, but it can answer many non-urgent questions related to concerns about the virus spreading.

FINANCIAL AID

SECOND TAXE PAIEMENT

The City recalls that last municipal tax payments is postponed to September 8 due to government announcements and the current situation.

In order to pay the last payment due on September 8, the City invites you to use electronic payment from your financial institution's website.

Please be aware that if you are unable to pay via the Internet, you can contact the Citizen Service Center by dialing 311 to find a suitable method.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR WORKERS WHO HAVE LOTS THEIR JOB

Both the provincial and the federal governments have introduced financial assistance programs for workers who are unable to earn their full employment income due to isolation to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
